Who we are

Playtribe is an app for finding and hosting casual sport events near you. For questions about this policy or your data, reach us through the contact page.

Contacting us through this website

The contact form on this website is processed by Web3Forms, which receives and forwards the name, email address, topic and message you submit to our support mailbox. We use these details only to reply or provide the help you asked for. Web3Forms may retain submissions in its dashboard according to its own privacy policy and retention settings.

Newsletter and launch updates

If you choose to join the Playtribe Updates list, we collect your email address and use Brevo to store it and send the Playtribe newsletter and app launch updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. We do not add contact form users to this list automatically.

Data we collect in the app

Account. When you sign up we collect your email address and, if you use Google Sign In, the name and email Google shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Profile. Information you choose to add: display name, photos, bio, gender, languages, the sports you play and your skill levels, your neighborhood, and optional payment handles (MobilePay or Revolut usernames) used to split event costs. Your profile is visible to other Playtribe users.

Approximate location.With your permission, the app uses your device's approximate location to show sport events near you. This is optional. You can browse without it. When you host an event, the meeting location you choose is shown to other users. We do not track your location in the background.

Content and activity. Events you create or join, messages you send in event chats and direct messages, ratings you give and receive, attendance history (which powers your reliability score), and reports or blocks you submit.

Device data. A push notification token and related device identifiers, so we can send you notifications you have opted into (for example when someone joins your event).

Why we use it

We use this data solely to run Playtribe: creating and showing events, matching you with games nearby, enabling chat, sending notifications, keeping the community safe (reports, blocks, reliability scores) and providing support. Legal bases under the GDPR are performance of our contract with you, your consent (for location and notifications, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and reliable. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third party advertising.

Service providers

Playtribe runs on trusted providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), OneSignal (push notifications), Brevo (newsletter and launch updates), Google (optional sign in) and OpenStreetMap (map tiles, where loading the map shares your IP address with the tile server, as with any website resource). This website is served by our hosting provider, which may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type and request time for security and reliability.

What other users can see

Your profile, the events you host, and your participation in events are visible to other users, as are messages you send in event chats and direct messages. Choose what you share accordingly.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete account, which permanently removes your profile, events, messages and activity. You can also request deletion from the account deletion page.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, and request portability. Contact us through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Denmark, Datatilsynet).

Age requirement

Playtribe is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and note the new date below.
