Questions, answered.
Everything people should know before joining their first game.
Getting started
Is Playtribe free?
Yes. Playtribe is free to download and join. If an organizer charges for a venue, you’ll see the cost before joining.
Do I need a team or previous experience?
Not at all. Playtribe is designed for individuals and complete beginners. Clear skill levels and beginner friendly labels help you choose a game where you’ll feel comfortable.
Which sports and cities will be available?
You’ll be able to browse sports such as padel, tennis, running, yoga, football and volleyball. Playtribe is rolling out city by city, and the mix will grow with each local community.
When will Playtribe be available on Android and iPhone?
Android launches first on Google Play very soon, and an iPhone version is in the works. Join Playtribe Updates below and we’ll email you about both launches.
Joining a game
How do I join, and can I bring a friend?
Choose a game that fits your sport, time, distance and skill level, then follow the join flow inside the app. You can invite friends too, and they join through Playtribe so the host knows who is coming.
What if no game fits my schedule?
Create your own in three simple steps: choose the vibe, add the details, then review and publish. You decide the sport, time, location, spots and skill level.
What can I see before joining?
Each event shows where to meet, when it starts, duration, available spots, venue cost and weather when relevant. Hosts can add extra guidance in the description.
What happens if a game is full?
Join the waitlist. Your position is shown in the app, so you know where you stand if a spot opens up.
Can I add a game to my calendar?
Yes. You can add an event to your calendar so it is easier to keep track of your plans.
Plans, safety and trust
What if I need to cancel?
You can leave a game in the app at any time. Hosts can cancel an event too, and participants receive a notification inside the app when plans change.
How does the reliability score work?
Your reliability score runs from 0 to 100 and is based on attendance history. New players are shown as “New player” until there is enough history for a meaningful score, so first time players are never penalised for being new.
How does Playtribe keep games safe and welcoming?
Players can report a concern, block people they do not want to interact with and hosts can remove a participant from their own event. Reports are reviewed by the Playtribe team.
Who can see my location and profile?
Other Playtribe users can see the profile details and event activity you choose to share. Approximate location is optional and only helps show nearby games; exact event locations are shared when you host or join an event. For the full details, read our Privacy Policy
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Playtribe is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Can I split the cost of a game?
Yes. If an event has a cost, Playtribe can help the group split it and supports MobilePay or Revolut payment links where players have added those details to their profile.
How do I stay connected after a game?
Every event has a group chat, and friends can use direct messages. Add people you enjoyed playing with, share a recap and find your next game together.
